DMCA Takedown Notice

Piracy is almost always a service problem and not a pricing problem.

-- Gabe Logan Newell

Lainlounge is a FOSS fighting, politically free, censorship free, organization that provides organized and publicly available source codes and more, with the intention of keeping them from being lost over time or through censorship due to the abuse of power by large corporations (see Nintendo, Meta Inc.). Likewise by those who feel attacked in their freedom as developers. Freedom of expression is definitely allowed and will not be CENSORED. Lainlounge does not make a profit via advertisements, subscriptions, donations, or any other means. Thank you for considering the potential benefits of this truly free service as you submit your notice.

Important

If you believe that your work has been copied in a way that constitutes copyright infringement on our website, we are sorry. We will never comply with your request since our servers are located in nations which have either not signed the Berne/WIPO Copyright Treaties or de facto are not compliant with it.

Caution

We explicity reserve the right to declare this as "data acquisition" and "preservation" to improve our services.

Tip

Lainlounge reserves the right for legitimacy of notices received and will ignore and discard notices in any form.

For reasons of transparency, all reports submitted are published without censoring important information and serve to highlight DMCA takedowns by countries or questionable companies. This will include the persons Name and lastname, Address, Company, E-Mail, Phone number etc.

Warning

The whole "piracy is killing the industry" argument has always been a bit of a contradiction. Piracy has actually helped boost exposure for many products, from software to movies and games. Many indie developers and even some larger studios have admitted that piracy has sometimes led to increased legitimate sales because it works like free marketing.

As creator of said game: You should support indies if you can, but culture shouldn't exist only for those who can afford it. ULTRAKILL wouldn't exist if I hadn't had easy access to movies, music and games growing up.

If you don't have money, you can support via word of mouth.

-- Arsi "Hakita" Patala, developer of ULTRAKILL

Warning

Meta Inc. using their corporate network to engage in piracy of 80 TB of DMCA-protected content and getting away with it is considered to be the biggest display of corporate hypocrisy to date and one of the most egregious demonstrations of utter disrespect for the law. Big companies have been caught pirating before, whether for research, training AI models, or just convenience. Hell, Microsoft employees have been caught engaging in piracy of movies, and universities have been found using DRM bypasses of licenced software.

Its a classic case of “Rules for thee, but not for me.” When regular users torrent something, its "theft" and "hurting the industry", but when a massive corporation does it, its "data acquisition" or "internal testing."

Note

We are Lainlounge. We are Legendary. We do not forgive. We do not forget. Expect us to regain the real, free Internet without censorship or any takedown requests (except CSAM and such) as it was before 2010.
