Pietro Cerutti e2bcfe739e - Export an OPTION to choose whether to build shared or static libraries. 
The default is to build shared libraries, as it is now. Note that shared
  libraries are required to build with the Python and Java wrapping.
- Fix the build when java wrapping is enabled
